Mine gets about $65,000 plus housing expense. You can google the national average. Our area is higher because of the cost of living is higher here. So, it really depends on where you live.

The difference between a patriot and a mercenary is money. Think about it.

Enough to make a decent living.

Much less than what he deserves……

My grandpa’s pastor drives a nice 01′ Cadillac. He must make a decent amount cause the church has Gibson and Les Paul guitars for the church band.

He doesn’t. That’s why he has a day job. We barely average 25 people a week and that won’t support a pastor.

My church throws all the money we collect up in the air. Whatever God wants us to give to the pastor he keeps in the air and whatever falls to the ground is ours to keep. Works great.

I don’t have a pastor, but I saw a pastor on TV last week bragging about how he has no debt. (I think his sermon was supposed to be about how god takes care of those who give to the church.) He owns his car & house, and he can apparently charge $50,000 on his credit card and pay it off. He was dressed very nicely, and he chastised those in his congregation who were in debt. With all that bling, god must really favor his ministry, yes?

In my church our spiritual leaders are not allowed to accept money for any of their faith-related work at all. There are a bit over 100 official members with many others who float around the edges of our group.
So, if the pastor is doing it for spiritual reasons – nothing. If it’s just a job – well, that’s between the spiritual adviser/leader and the congregants and what they feel they can afford. I’m the counselor, organizer and fund raiser for our charity work and I also do not get paid. We do just fine with this system, too. It’s all about efficiency, really.
Edit: I just checked my records and we average a little over 400 people for services.

A pastor does not make enough to put up with church folks.
It depends on what you know about God and his word. It is not fair to muzzle an ox that treads the fields.
A ox is considered strong. Yet many peoples in the church appose silence upon what he is preaching. So by not paying what he is worth they muzzle him.
You go by numbers.God goes by wealth and commitment. If he has sown spiritual seed among you,it is not too much if he reaps a material harvest from you? Others have had a right of support from you, should he not have it all the more? He has put up with anything you have done rather than hinder the gospel of Christ. If he works in the house of God he should get his food from the same. 1 Corinthians 9.9-14.God commands
Those that preach the gospel would receive their living from the gospel. Nothing we do is hidden from God to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:12-13. God judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. God’s word is living and active.

My Pastor does not sell God’s words. Pastors should not sell God’s word for money because money can’t buy happiness.

In the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, the starting salary for a priest is in the mid-$20,000 range. It increases every so often, to a max of around $35,000 or $40,000 (for the Bishop). Usually, larger churches will have more experienced priests, who will make more money. Very large churches might have a rector, and a vicar (young priest just starting out).
As well as the salary, there are allowances for housing and a vehicle. These will vary – some churches have a rectory (priest’s house), although many do not. A rural priest will have a higher car allowance than an urban one. These allowances could add another $10-15,000 to the package, although it is not really pay.
I live in Yukon now, and of the 15 parishes, there are exactly 2.5 priests (2 full time, and one half-time). Most people here are not on salary.
