As a NYer and an American I am appauled. He disgraced the memory of every person who died on 9/11, every person who lost someone on 9/11, every citizen of NY, every person who worked at the Pentagon and every hero who came from near and far to help us in our time of need.

But MUCH more than that, he disgraced the memory of every person who was killed in their sleep at Pearl Harbor. THAT is the reason we bombed Hiroshima and we had every right to retaliate for what JAPAN started. I don’t know a single person from WW2 who had any problem with what we did. It saved maybe thousands and thousands of American lives fighting that war.

Mr. Barak Hussain Obama as a person born in the state of Hawaii should know that. Or isn’t that what they taught him in school in Indonesia? That is what they taught me here in school in the good old US of A. God BLESS America.

Sorry Paster Wrong and Barak Hussain Obama – you are haters and liars.

Barak give back every campaign dollar to every citizen in this country whose opinion of you has changed now that the truth be told. When you buy something and it isn’t what you wanted or expected, you deserve your money back.

If you donated to his campaign and are an AMERICAN ask for a refund. Break him by taking back your money and leaving his campaign broke.

It is the major reason why his "denunciation" in disingenuous and genius at the same time. For the latter, he wraps enough verbiage around "background" material to make it sound as if he is distancing himself from the pastor and, the former, because he is not denouncing in any way shape or form. It is a semantically-based game that Obama is playing.

Are you responsible for what your pastor says? No. Neither is Senator Obama for what his pastor says.

He denounced it. That’s enough. That’s all anyone can do.

I don’t like Senator Obama either, or Senator Clinton. But every other answer has just been *irrational*!

I found that a little disturbing. Those remarks are highly inflammatory, and come from a person who he has said is a mentor of his. I would walk out of my church if my pastor started spouting anti-America anti-black propaganda, and certainly have something to say about the wrongness of such invective.

Honestly, I think he could have leveraged that point if he wanted to. It is true that a lot of black americans who grew up back in those days are pretty set in their ways, especially after growing up with Jim Crow laws and segregation.

If Obama wanted to come out of this sounding better than he did, he should have said that the viewpoints were misguided and racist viewpoints of the past that he, as a president, would try to move us away from. Instead, he pretty much defended the guy and went so far as to say that he is still loyal to him, even knowing what kinds of sentiments he harbours.

Obama had the opportunity to both denounce this kind of activity without denouncing the man himself, and use it as part of a greater message of unity and he squandered it. This could only mean that either Obama was too stupid to realize how to handle the situation, or he really does believe in what his pastor said. Neither situation bodes well.

I am glad that he didn’t. There is no reason for him to do so. I’d rather he lose the nomination than bow to knee-jerk reactions from people who do not want to hear an inconvenient truth.
