Psalm 71:5
For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.

1 Timothy 4:12
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

just because someone is young doesn't mean they have nothing to contribute to the kingdom of God.
you can live your life as an example to others.

It is applicable from the time they are born.

Proverbs 22:6Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

In today's society the life and ministry of Christ does not appeal to youth. Oh you said applicable. I am so sorry. I have worked with youth and I have taken a break from that ministry because it upsets me greatly. Maybe I am wrong in doing this but I don't feel I am able to teach and influence youth right now. It is hard to compete with the culture and society of today. If you have youth that will listen, try using the Gospels to teach them. Teach the stories of the old testament to them. There are many applicable lessons to be learned in Paul's letters. Ephesians is a good book to teach to youth. Don't sugar coat the message. If the message is pertaining to sexual purity, give it to them straight. If the message is pertaining to loving their enemies don't down play the importance. Be as clear and instructive as you can when teaching the Bible. I once heard a wise youth minister said to cut out the board games and pizza parties at youth events and do more Bible studies. Youth groups today have become accustomed to less Bible studies and more fun time and when you try to plug in more devotions and Bible study it turns them off and they lose interest.
