Jesus did not silence the man possessed by the legion.. He allowed it to speak.. what did we gain from Him allowing the demon to speak? 1) its name.. names of spirits are important because it reveals their character and nature.. ie.. spirit of rejection can be dealt with different than a spirit of murder in a session.. 2) the legion confessed it didnt want to be sent out of the country..(we know they are territorial 3)didnt want to go to abyss 4)can and do go into animals

It’s easy for people to be against what they don’t know or understand what it is. that is one way you can truly know that God is doing a work for you if you aren’t making any noise then more than likely your ministry is not making any difference but if you have people coming against you then we know that God is pushing it out as you have now gotten the attention of the enemy. Stay strong sis keep doing what you are doing and Trusting fully in GOD!

Good question, the only thing that I can think of off the top of my head is mark 5:9, were Jesus ask a demon his name and it was legion. I doubt if it was his name but rather identifying that there were many in the man. Personally I don’t think we should talk to demons. I think Jesus was displaying his authority, he tells them to speak they do, he say shut up they do, he says come out they do. but since Jesus ask for a name demons must have names. demons lie so why talk to them. Cast them out.
